2026 Miss Gay Louisiana America Contestant Information

Contestants should be familiar with the Miss Gay America National Pageant rules and regulations, including category descriptions, prior to competing, by referring to the Miss Gay America Handbook at www.MissGayAmerica.com. 


While we anticipate minimal changes, contestants are advised to consult this webpage regularly for any updates, as it shall serve as the definitive and authoritative source of information. 

2026 MGLA Presentation Theme

Mythical Magical Excellence: An Evening of Enchantment 

Each of you chose a diamond color at your city preliminary, a gem that reflects your inner brilliance. You will bring that color to life in High Fashion Presentation, whether through a gown, couture catsuit, or show-stopping creative look. NO Leotards.

Saturday, August 15th

  • 11:00 AM: Contestant Registration (River Room)
  • Personal Interview directly following registration


MGLA Revue Show

Splash Nightclub

  • 7:00 PM: Doors Open
  • 7:30 PM: Contestant Roll Call
  • 8:00 PM: Revue Show Begins

 

Sunday, August 16th

Splash Nightclub

  • 12:00 PM: Venue opens
  • 12:10 PM: Contestant rollcall
  • 12:15 – 12:45 PM: Opening production rehearsal
  • 12:45 – 2:00 PM: Talent sound checks, contestant rehearsal, prop load in
  • 5:00 PM: Venue opens for staff, contestants, and entertainers
  • 6:00 PM: Contestant rollcall
  • 6:00 PM: Doors open to the public
  • 7:00 PM: Pageant begins 

Talent Information

Stage Dimensions

  • Main Stage (Behind Curtain): 8' × 23'
  • Stage Extension (In Front of Curtain): 4' × 16'


Digital Screen Specifications

The venue has a state-of-the-art video wall covering the entire back wall of the stage.

  • Do NOT touch the video screen on stage nor let any props touch it.
  • Contestants may provide music for talent that includes video. The details for providing your music/video file are listed below.
  • For contestants who do not wish to use a background for the video wall, or do not provide one, an official Miss Gay Louisiana America-themed image will be displayed during talent presentation. The same MGLA image will be used for all contestants who do not provide one. 

Submission of Music/Video for Talent

  • Competition music/video should be submitted in quality condition.
  • If using a combination of music and video, the file format required is MP4 and the display resolution is 1080p (1920x1080).
  • If just a music file is used, the file format should be MP3 or MP4.
  • Contestants must submit their files via this link no later than Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM. This is a secure Dropbox file request link that ensures recipients only have access to the upload functionality and cannot browse or see other files or folders in this Dropbox.
  • File must be labeled with Contestant’s Number, Stage Name, and Track Name.
  • Contestants should have a back-up copy of their music/video available on a flash drive if needed. Include only one file on a flash drive.
  • Per the MGA Handbook, administrative deductions will be applied for improperly labeled or Media received in poor condition. 

Tickets & Admission

Revue Show

  • Contestants receive complimentary admission


Pageant

  • Contestants receive one (1) complimentary dresser admission
  • Contestants are responsible for admission fees for all dancers and additional support personnel


Ticket Information

Tickets for both the Revue Show and Pageant may be purchased:

  • Online (skip-the-line price available)
  • At the door

Additional Information

  • If contestants require a makeup mirror for the dressing room at the venue, they must bring their own makeup mirror and any special lighting. 
  • Contestants are not allowed to hang anything from the sprinkler systems in the dressing room or hotel.
  • If you are familiar with the “pool room” at Splash, this will be used for walking through to the stage and for any prop storage.


Important Reminder

⚠️ Pageant Night Venue Requirement

All contestants, entertainers, dressers, personal belongings, costumes, and props must be removed from the venue no later than midnight at the conclusion of the pageant.
